Thanks for visiting!
We are participants in an interdisciplinary course at a university in the mid-western United States. We are exploring interaction across and about faith and worldview difference in our world and in our communities.
First, we are reflectively exploring our own faith or worldview and the “journey” that got us to where we are today – including the various “life aspects” (experiences, events, decisions, people, communities / groups, stories, places, books, music, movies, learnings, etc.) that have informed and shaped us and our faith or worldview.
We are also reviewing a wide variety of interactions across faith and worldview difference that happen in our world and communities – from the violent to the respectful. Our goal is two-fold. We want to seek to understand the participants in these interactions – especially those that are most strange or even offensive to us. We also want to each develop our own guidelines for engagement across faith or worldview difference.
Finally we are actually engaging across faith and worldview difference. This is happening in small group and class discussions and activities, but we are also doing this outside the classroom. This is obviously a chance to apply the guidelines we developed above.
For our semester project we are reporting on these three areas of exploration and engagement. We are creating this blog as a(n initial) place to publish our reports. We hope that by doing this our writing and ideas will have a greater potential trajectory than typical undergraduate course papers. We would welcome you to read and comment on some of our work (scroll to the bottom of any page):
